CLED is developing an inclusive school and a specialized dual vocational training- DVT for children/young people with learning disabilities and educational inequities in Ghana. The community school has the following component;
Primary & Junior High School
The school will provide the children (3-12 years) an inclusive primary and junior high school education.
The dual vocational training- DVT program involves two days of study at the vocational school, where the students (13-20 years) are given theoretical knowledge about their future employment and for the remaining three days they are sent every week to partner organization to provide first hand vocational training of practical skills required at the work.
CLED Youth Internship Program
The CLED Youth Internship Program is part of the CLED Inclusion Strategy, which provides youth with the acceptance, tools and experience they need for successful community integration.
The Program aims to increase acceptance, inclusion and employment opportunities by promoting awareness among Ghanaian organizations of the potentials of young people with learning disabilities and other special needs. Youth with learning disabilities and special needs internships/volunteering consist of a minimum of one-month period spent in hands-on, observing and shadowing professionals in careers of their interest.
